I hate packing for shipping, and shipping so I try to get a few hundred pounds and make the drive, 600 miles one way for me to drop off in person. The low and medium grades and other low end material that would otherwise end up in shred at a nickel a pound usually more than pay the gasoline expenses, plus, on the way back to SE Tennessee, I have an empty truck, a pocket full of cash, and 600 miles to collect rocks and fossils and geodes all the way home.
