First of note: only remove heatsinks and shields unless someone tells you otherwise.
Most people will remove something they didn’t have to along the way somewhere. And! There are all sorts strange packages (something that holds something else inside it) out there. Of major point is in old A/V where You remove what you think is a large canister capacitor only to find the board drop to midgrade. You removed the solid gold shell crystal in a canister cooler package. Oops. Or you cut a finger off a 70s relay board thinking the board was junk; it was peripheral till you cut it.
When in doubt always ask first.

The receiver board on the top/right is midgrade
Other two peripheral

Big board is low telco
Gfc will be high telco. Remove heatsink

Small socket green. Remove all plastic. Turn the screw one half left to remove the cpu. Pop out the ram.

Gold finger card

Gold finger card. Gently pull the Dallas box off. Remove the heat sink. Unscrew the shield cap. It will probably be Torx. 8 or 9 size

The almost square one is peripheral. Rest cd/dvd

Both peripheral

Both peripheral

Hi,

I have a question regarding this post.
Why is the laptop motherboard in picture #3 not graded as a laptop motherboard?
Is it because the PCMCIA card plugin wasn't removed?

So you can leave heat sinks on motherboards?

No, As the first reply states remove heatsinks.

ccussins:
Because as it stands from the photo I can’t tell if it’s a laptop board or an AiO (all in one) board. Without being positive I will always default to the lower class. Better you get an upgrade than a downgrade. ;)
This is either an AiO or a very integrated laptop or embedded. I can’t be sure.

If it came from a laptop put it in the laptop class.
They dock workers know the various boards better than I do.
