I too, cut larger flashings and trimmed ribbons. I also still cut printer ribbons.
If you're going to refine or outsource them yourself anyways, I would still remove these.

That's what my opinion on this matter is too..

Spence..
I don’t recall if it was agent K or Chris himself who posted it originally. At one point these were accepted as clean gold fingers. Though for nubs that was before “clean” was added to gold fingers!
The post has since been delegated and I can 100% confirm it was accepted as CGF at one point based on my rolling archives of the site. I can also state with no doubt that they do NOT qualify now!

Is it the same thing with the silver ends on the flat wire? Or is it still ok to cut them off and put in with silver/tin ram?

I’d say no.
Also, tin and nickel finger connectors haven’t gone in the ram rate for quite some time so as for now I’d say no.

I know this is an old post but are the ribbon flashings worth anything to anybody? Does anyone buy them?

BoardSort never officially bought them and stopped unofficially buying them as well.

There’s definitely value there for gold ends. If you find a SCRAP YARD that will buy them they are running $<$2-$6+ per pound depending on where you are.

The obvious problem is they’re not all equal.

A hundred pounds of tension snap connectors for quad sas is a nice payday. 500 lbs of quarter mobile DVD connectors is nothing to tweet about.

Call yards, ask if they buy gold scrap. Then bring them in.

If the gold connection-end was trimmed-off could it be sent in as 'Connector Ends' ?

No. Chris has specifically said no.
