What I would do on 5......
Carefully trim the gold fingers......this will NOT down grade the board.

If those gold cap chips have gold pins pull them them for 8086 rate
YES pulling the gold cap chips WILl down grade the board to high telco.

If you aren't sure its worth it you can carefully pull one of the gold cap chips and weigh it and do the calculations and go from there.

You need to check the chip on board #3 with the black square on it. There could be a gold cap hiding under that black square. That's what I would do anyways. ;)

malphorian1973,

I wondered the same thing but it looks copper. You are right though he should double check it.

Thank you for all the helpful responses.

@rdw1121 #4 is from a camera. I will also trim gold fingers on #5.
@malphorian1973 I will double check the chip on board #3.

Board 2 - Those black squares are not CPUs, processors or ICs. They are Flat Pack Input Modules. 10-32VDC or 12-32VDC input.

I’d double check with either Chris and/or Lost as to whether or not that board would go as High Telco.

Thinking one would/could trim the gold fingers and board would go as low grade.

In addition, there’s a symbol, do not discard in trash, on the newer year manufacture. So, not sure what’s inside the Opto IDC5P flat packs.

As I said, double check before sending in as high telco or any other grade for that matter.

If those aren't IC's, the board is probably Low Grade Peripheral.

I would check with Chris, but I sent him some emails about 20 days ago and haven't heard back.

I want to hit a couple things here at once.....please don't take offense to this.
There is no telling how many phone calls and emails Chris gets every day hundreds or more if i was to guess. Chris does an outstanding job at replying to emails and taking phone calls all while running a business.
Honesty is the best policy here shipping or delivering in person......I have had Chris and the gang down grade some boards to peripheral I thought were telco, I have also had them up-grade boards to telco I thought I was absolutely sure they were automotive boards because of the sealant on them. On the boards I am not 100% sure of which is mostly telco I always write them a note and put it on top of the invoice. “Please double check the telco as I am not 100% sure of my grading”. Boardsort will be more than fair with you as long as you are honest with them. They will be more likely to up-grade a border line board rather than down grade it as long as you are honest with them.
