I would buy these as cell phone boards.

Ideally we would prefer all of the metal removed from all cell phone boards that we buy.

The metal top on this board is not a mercury relay so you will be just fine removing it.

90% of MWR (mercury wetted relay) boxes will actually say "Do Not Open" or "Mercury Wettted Relay" or minimally MWR or MR. They have a particular appearance, typically in a boxy rectangular package.

Almost all of them look like the ones I am attaching to this reply. The wording will be different but they all tend to take this same form.

Keep in mind, boards that contain one or more of these MWRs will always be downgraded to Peripheral Low or less if already a low value board. I am not telling you to remove MWR's from your boards because, well, you know...the mercury and all...but they are an automatic downgrade when sent in.

But in short, no, these cell boards do not have MWRs, just a little RF shield that should come off easily.

Scraprat was able to point out what the RMPA stood for, had Chris not been able to respond I think that would have gotten us a pretty good indicator of no mercury.
