D) Not sure if the aluminum heatsinks will make much of a difference here but I always try to get those off on a board like this. Try pliers or a flathead screwdriver between the fins and twist. If it looks/feels/sounds like the chip is coming off then stop. You can either apply heat and try again or just leave them on. I think this will make high peripheral either way but definitely will without the aluminum
