 Post subject: tape removes gold foil

can I leave this tape on these type of cards without devalue ? Removing tape pulls off some plating.

From what I understand, Boardsort prefers the "tape" to be removed. I don't know if it's strictly required. Definitely be sure there's no glass.

Also, for these specific boards from screens, they generally start at midgrade if there are no any components mounted on the board as the amount of gold is minimal and doesn't significantly increase the value. If there are ICs mounted on the board it could pull the grade up to high peripheral.

It doesn’t exactly matter with these screen boards for midgrade.

The plastic tabs are midgrade. The board starts there. If the contact strip is gold the board would be low peripheral making removing the tabs required.
