I have lots of miscellaneous boards that I'm not sure on. One overall question ...; Am I at least getting these in close enough groups to start with?

somewhat populated boards plus gold plated pins

Thank you in advance.

For anyone who has helped me and would like checked on their grading skills thank you. I took a load in today and nothing from any of the pics I posted (7 topics total) went as telecom, either low or high. However, ALL of the boards identified as low or high peripheral went as high peripheral.

5) Looks a lot like a CD/DVD board based on the switch and data port and where the ribbon cable was soldered on directly but I don't see any markings to be 100% sure.

6) is similar to the peripheral usb ports found on desktops that normally go low peripheral because they have gold pins, a good board but nothing much else. This one seems to have several ICs which definitely helped pull it up (plus it appears to be from a laptop so probably a better board because of that too)

As for the rest, it sounds like you went in in person so at least you could see Boardsort checking the material and ask questions. I ship everything so there's not too much feedback for me to know; was that one board really low peripheral or was it better?

So the highest grade you got from all the topics titled "help grading boards, please. set X" was Peripheral High Grade? I guess that's good that all the boards graded here as Peripheral LOW Grade passed as Peripheral High Grade, but it seemed like there were some boards that would be higher grade.

The only board here that I would have had a problem getting high grade periph on would be #3. That one is at least a low grade tele! AT LEAST! You also have to remember that when you ask for help classifying boards on this forum, if it doesn't come from lost, Chris, or ccousins (all admins) then they are only opinions. If I didn't list your name as an admin and you are, I am sorry. I do not know the names of all of the admins as of yet. ;) These "opinions" are there simply as a guide to help you learn to classify on your own. Most of the people here that give their opinions really do know their stuff. But on occasion have been known to be wrong. We are all just people, and people make mistakes. :) Take care all, and have an enjoyable day! Mal.

I wondered about that one but I assumed whoever received it knocked it for those two black boxes, one is labeled T1 on the board, possible transformer or similar chunk of steel?

Part of why I don't offer opinions on some posts is I can't feel the board's weight and turn it over in my hands to be sure of what's there.

There were 2 boards from set 7 that went as high telecom. I had them set aside because they were telecom by purpose and I just wasn't sure if high or low. Nobody had identified them yet when I posted my results. I see now that picklejar suggested low telecom.

Was that #1 and #3? Did you remove any of the socketed ICs? I'm wondering if doing that would bring the board classification down.
