A-should be a laptop MB
B and C I guess High Peripheral
D-Low maybe
E-Destined for the local trash as it won't be worth shipping.

I agree with A, B, & C, but I think D can got as high grade periph as well. Not much total weight of the board and has a few small ICs on it. With E, you should find a local yard that will take transformers if you have enough to make a few pounds, some yards might classify as electric motors or CBM as well.

I'll have to look again when I'm not on my phone but I tentatively agree with all but D.

Looks like D has a good bit of steel weight but also has a couple ICs. So you're starting at midgrade, worst case, but I'm inclined to say low peripheral.

As for E, it's up to you to determine how much processing is worth your time if you want to strip the board of most everything that way you can sell to a local scrap yard. Or, if you have the space, low grade board tend to stack up pretty quick (at least for me). You could hold onto all your low grade until you have enough to ship freight. There's a guy on here Gorven I believe is his username, that has been helping forum members ship freight. I have used him once so far and aside from some "first time shipping freight" bumps it was great. I think it was about 25¢/lb or less (honestly not sure at this point) but definitely made some money on shipping low grade to boardsort instead of selling locally.

That sounds pretty good! I would rather sell to Boardsort than my local yard, but regular shipping is too much.

Seems we're commandeering you're thread Diamond... but before I get off topic
A) I think there's a chance for high telco here, pop the aluminum heatsink off, should be able to slide a flathead under the heatsink and chip and twist.
D) I can't see high peripheral on it, low peripheral should be good.

I'm fortunate to have some local-ish options for circuit boards and I would prefer to stay local if possible but it seems they can't compete with Boardsort's prices. Thankfully, there are some shipping options out there if you can find them... to that end here's the link to the search string to pull up all of gorven's posts which include his contact info. Don't know if prices have gone up any with all the wonderful things going on in the world but I'd imagine prices are still competitive:

No worries on the Commandeer...close enough to topic for my taste.

A-popped off the heatsink, and wondering how I missed removing it. (perhaps more coffee is in order.)
B and C sorted to High Periph
D-Low Periph
E-Local disposal

Sorted, Thank You.

C.

Some of the best discussion comes from hijacked posts :)

That's why I would rather sell to Boardsort! One time I took several boxes of power supplies to my local yard and they gave me about 80% what I could get from here, but didn't involve shipping. Too bad there's not a e-waste option within a 4 hour drive.

I love it when I can manage to get LostinLodos to digress on topics, provides lots of learning opportunities :D

I got into this more for the environmental reasons than to start a business so I try to remain mindful of that. Inevitably it's getting shipped somewhere so I'm not really strict with what I do but if I can take my smaller amounts somewhere, especially if I'm going that way anyway, with established shipping instead of having a different truck go out of it's normal route to pick stuff up I will. Plus, with what seems to be so few options for escrap, I'd rather give business to local places so they continue to exist.
