I've been saving laptop lithium-ion batteries for mad long and here about a month away from driving my e-scrap down the price drops to zero. Not a big deal nobody's hurting because lithium ion batteries aren't being bought but to go from a price per pound so high I can't fathom how you could possibly make money on it to zero. It's more than a price drop to adjust for the market what happened?

I noticed that today as well. I also noticed a few other price drops.

Yeah it could be for many reasons who knows. With all the regulations and stuff these guys deal with I can easily see how an item would turn from viable to non viable. Anything from a machine breaking down to a change in the law. You would have to email Chris for answers.
I'm thinking I will keep hording my batteries and either build a power wall or find a new lithium buyer. Its very disappointing watching the prices fall with the economy.

Changes in law.
Keep in mind all my apocalyptic warnings of mishandling lithium are not hyperbole. In quantity the smallest mistake can be devastating. Any change in law can make the risk/reward level balance flip in a huge way.

Chris said there was an announcement coming. We’ll just need to wait.
