I took these pics to post here to ask about gold caps but I think I answered my question...
I ran the MC68LC040RC25A on the chip and got a gold capped chip result on digi-key's website and 486's are always(???) gold capped so I'm thinking both are gold capped chip boards.
So If I run into similar boards but can't identify a chip, is there a way to determine if the bottom has a gold cap without removing it? Like, drill a small hole from the other side of the board? Any other thoughts?
Ignore the batteries I see them :D
