So I found a couple intact of these different machines I've been scrapping down. I have multiple of all the boards from this system. Some are easy to place some not so much for a newbie. The two main boards, the smaller board with the two ports, the small board with 2 large chips and gold connectors on both sides, and the compact flash drives i could use some assistance on.

After looking the Blue board over again. You may be right. It would be nice to see the side view of the ports. But. With the issue of the toroids and the 4R7 components. Those are iron oxide. I just see them as junk. Especialy when trying to fit into the High Telecom category. I will add. That is not a typical telecom board. So. I see getting rid of ferrite a good move. A positive move.
Again. You have more miles on your shoes then I will ever have. In e-scrap.
I prefer to clean junk to get the better payout. But. Even that can get complicated. How so? Simple. When one has 100 boards for a inquiry. To having 1 board on an inquiry.

The components on the blue board labeled r47 are small copper coils on ferrite too. I was thinking low telecom. One of the ones I need to email Chris on. There's so much visible gold and chips on the board

On the blue board, It's H.G. Telco all day long. No need to remove anything! You can even remove the gold fingers without downgrading it. No need to be so nit picky guys. As long as the biggies are taken care of... all good.

Malphorian1973.
I again reviewed the High Grade Telecom video on the Boardsort e-scrap list. The speaker uses the term "junk" 7 times. Referring to junk as transformers, large capacitors, and heat sinks specifically. In concert with that. He mentions "low profile". Those are guidelines. The blue board does not have a low profile. The toroids,4R7,electrolytics,that pseudo shielding on the edge of the board.
When it comes to the statement. Highly populated in the video. It really ISN'T. On that blue board.
And the gold fingers. Removing them. No. In my evaluation. Leaving the fingers on. Brings the blue board into High Telecom. Along with the other connectors.
But. No cleaning.. Low Telecom.

I'm hesitant to say high telco too. Not that it won't make it, just not certain it will. One of these times I wish Lost would pop into this section...

The shielding on the ethernet (presumably) ports is likely plated brass, and the other ports are small enough I wouldn't bother removing any regardless of low or high telco. I would grab that standoff for sure. Unless I knew for sure it would affect the grade I wouldn't pull any other lower value items. Gold fingers I don't pull off anything intentionally so I wouldn't here either. Aside from that it's got a lot of ICs and gold plated stuff so a telco grade seems appropriate.
