Got this out of a mid-90’s Compaq server. Just want to confirm it’s a GF RAM? Thanks!

Interesting way to jam more memory into a standardized socket.

You are correct, gold fingered ram.

old EDO dimm server ram, yep it's gold fingered ram. likely for a old pent pro server, might get more as is then scrap if you can find a buyer.

if you chose to sell it and not scrap look up luckybob on vogons or vcfed, he loves old pent pro server stuff and I used to sell to him all the time when I was finding that kind of stuff.

Compaq was doing some really cool stuff back in the 90s! Probably 32Mb of ramm on that stick.

256mb of ECC EDO goodness. Pent pro systems could use up to 64gb of ram if I recall. The ALR evo system I go my hands on (not a pent pro but a pent1) had 1.5gb in it. Its crazy to think of the cost of all that ram, folks like to gripe about AI making ram cost of alot now but back then ram cost even more and the funny thing, the ALR system I got was used for AI modeling lol
