You're not wrong. The trick is finding anyone who's interested in it beyond scrap.

indeed. doesn't help with how cranky the retro tech community has become, most everyone will gripe about us scrappers but also don't like us coming along and trying to sell or giveaway stuff on their forums and communities and some sites/groups going as far to not let anyone sell stuff at allm. and worse is how most of the vintage/retro computers sites are ran but some rather not so nice folks to say the least.

Wile people into vintage computers are out there and willing to buy, places to sell stuff is limited to a select few sites like amibay, vcfed and ebay. amibay and vcfed don't just allow you to walk in and sell stuff and a lot of folks in the retro computer hobby tend to gripe about ebay. so finding buyers can be hard.@NoWaistedSpace there's a fella on youtube, mike tech, he buys bulk e waste and computer lots from the 90s and early 00s, he might be worth contacting too if you want to sell everything at once.

Ebay is nothing but a den of thieves who sell nothing but junk when it comes to electronics. I've been ripped off in some way about 8 times since covid.
It used to be a good place, not anymore. I mess with stereos and music equipment. They ask between 25 and 45.00 for 1 driver for a Bose 901 speaker that you always have to replace the surrounds on. There are 18 drivers in a set of 901's. I own 6 sets of cabinets. I was lucky, my brother had bought a whole case of drivers many years ago. They want 45.00/pc for new knock offs. Hell, the stands and eq cost as much as the cabinets today. If you can even find original stands. Ebay is selling bars stool bases and calling them authentic.
It's 300.00 min for original chrome stands and they will have rust on them. If 901's are set up correctly, you can't beat the quality of the sound. Most have never listened to them the correct way. I run 2 sets as amplifier speakers for guitar. Fantastic sound. Right dead in the middle of the guitar frequency range.
You either love them or hate them. It's all about the room set up. You can't tell where the sound is coming. They can run on 20 -400 watts. I have Marantz and JVC stereos from the 70's. You can't the sound quality and the look of the old stuff. The want rid of us Boomers as quick as they can for some reason.
Sorry, I'm babbling about nonsense. That's what old people do. lol
People should listen to us, we've been and done that.

Tell me about it. I gave up on ebay because of the scammers. Some of them even found out how to get ebay to remove negative feedback.

Not a boomer but never got the boomer hate from my generation and genz, feels a lot like toxic entitlement, like "I can't have the nice things boomers have so I'll gripe and complain about them" Mean wile millennials and genz will sit on their butt all day doing nothing, afraid of getting phone call and spending every dime they have on junk and wonder where their money went. Then there is the arrogance... like you don't think someone older who has been around the block a few times more then you might know a thing you two you don't? Guess I'm rambling too Image

The A7N8X-E is more than worth selling if it works, KT600 boards are hit or miss for selling, most of them are going to have bad caps and most folks rather have a nforce 2 or KT880 board so you're not getting a whole lot more than scrap prices. The 500w psu is worth a try to sell but finding a buyer would be hard but I may buy it for the right price if its the green one or has 2 6 pin PCIe power cables.

compaq DeskPro and IBM 300GL? I'm sure you could sell those on ebay or VCFED.org rather fast https://forum.vcfed.org/index.php?forum ... -trade.40/ or you could go to one of VCFED events and sell them. nether the DeskPro 300Gl would likely fit my Obsidian 100SB so I would pass on them.

Been sitting here typing everything out and it disappeared. If you got 2500.00 and trailer and willing to take a drive in the country, Boardsort will get a big chunk of this anyway from who buys it.

I one question, an average sealed Deskpro is worth 25.00, is that correct?
I'm not gonna list all this stuff that's here. I'd like to talk to boardsort, but I don't want to bug them or use this as an auction house. That's not my intentions. I'm just an old man with a bunch of old computers and it's time to get rid of them. I'm not an escrapper. These didn't come out of a dumpster, they've been sitting on a shelf for close to 25 years.

Attention I sold them for 50 bucks each, plus I got to keep everything else.
Only took 5mins and I had the cash in hand. They were tickled to death to get them.
