I pulled boards like this from several old nonworking standalone CD drives. These look like they have more chips on them than a non-Sata harddrive board. The pin configuration looks the exact same. Has anyone sent these in under the non-Sata category?

That board would not go as non sata. Board sort has a CD category and I think it would go as that. But I understand if someone said it could sneak into telco. That board is a stones toss away to what I seen on some 5.25 hard drives and far more chipy then most CD drive boards I sent in, so I understand why one would argue it is a higher grade then CD board. maybe board sort should have a high/low CD board category, one for IDE and one for sata like they do hard drive boards because some of the CD boards I pulled form sata drives hardly even make it into the high Peripheral class.

The IC density certainly lends itself to Telco but CD/DVD boards are already priced between high and low so my suggestion, if you don't reach out to Boardsort before sending, keep this board with but separate from any CD boards you send in next with some kind of notation for review of this board.
