you are in for an adventure .. lots to learn here.
board #1 is mid grade. as long as it's a circuit board, boardsort will buy it. if it's green like that one it's mid grade, brown brittle boards are low grade.
#2 is high peripheral. most of the population is ICs and mlcc's. nice board.
#3 is very much mid grade, all the components would be considered "junk".
4 is low peripheral because of the big display, copper transformer and wires .. low perf as is. if you clip the wires and remove those 2 things, it'll be high peripheral, and the small board that's attached would be mid grade.
#5 is barely low peripheral.. to be safe i would cut the wires .. not sure what the green board would be on its own, possibly low perf if the connector is gold plated.
curious as to what other people have to say, especially about #4 and 5.
#1 So it is brown on one side, green on the other. Even if it's devoid of higher value components, if either side of the board is green, that automatically makes it mid grade?
#2 I am surprised to see any of these clocked as peripheral, but it seems like the overall size of the board doesn't matter, its always the density of higher value components like chips. And the size of the chips don't seem to matter?
#3 Again, no matter the junk, if it's green it's mid grade and not low grade?
#4 Regarding removing the displays, it looks like each display has its own little resin'd board. Is there any category I can put those in so that I'm not throwing these in the trash, or do resin'd components become impossible to get/virtually worthless? Image attached.
#5 I will cut wires as a rule then. Don't think the connector is gold plated, though it's hard to tell with female connectors. If I have potential high-peripheral boards with non-gold pins/connectors, is it a safe general rule to try to remove those connectors?
