New to BoardSort, and have plenty of questions, but right now trying to get a feel for if any of these smaller tool/handheld appliance boards have any value whatsoever and how they might be classified.

Very skeptical of the leftmost one. Technically it is a board, but does it hold ANY value whatsoever as far as BoardSort would be concerned?

Is there anything I should be removing from these boards, either for my own best interest or in the interest of ethical scrapping?

you are in for an adventure .. lots to learn here.
board #1 is mid grade. as long as it's a circuit board, boardsort will buy it. if it's green like that one it's mid grade, brown brittle boards are low grade.
#2 is high peripheral. most of the population is ICs and mlcc's. nice board.
#3 is very much mid grade, all the components would be considered "junk".
4 is low peripheral because of the big display, copper transformer and wires .. low perf as is. if you clip the wires and remove those 2 things, it'll be high peripheral, and the small board that's attached would be mid grade.
#5 is barely low peripheral.. to be safe i would cut the wires .. not sure what the green board would be on its own, possibly low perf if the connector is gold plated.

curious as to what other people have to say, especially about #4 and 5.

#1 So it is brown on one side, green on the other. Even if it's devoid of higher value components, if either side of the board is green, that automatically makes it mid grade?
#2 I am surprised to see any of these clocked as peripheral, but it seems like the overall size of the board doesn't matter, its always the density of higher value components like chips. And the size of the chips don't seem to matter?
#3 Again, no matter the junk, if it's green it's mid grade and not low grade?
#4 Regarding removing the displays, it looks like each display has its own little resin'd board. Is there any category I can put those in so that I'm not throwing these in the trash, or do resin'd components become impossible to get/virtually worthless? Image attached.
#5 I will cut wires as a rule then. Don't think the connector is gold plated, though it's hard to tell with female connectors. If I have potential high-peripheral boards with non-gold pins/connectors, is it a safe general rule to try to remove those connectors?

1, low grade. If one side of the board is brown then you likely will be low or mid grade. If there's precious metals on the board then you're looking mid grade. No precious metals, like what this board is, low grade.

2, is from a pc fan. These range from low grade (brown/transparent board; no ICs), to high peripheral (quality board with lots of ICs). This one, to me, is bordering high peripheral and probably would be fine there but might go in my low peripheral pile if I had it.

3, not everything there is "junk". The terminal connector probably has brass (and steel) in it and the slider switch that the top is gone from is probably silver plated on brass or copper. The weight of those items is definitely outweighed (lol, pun pretty much intended) by the board, capacitor and other components so midgrade seems right to me.

4, high peripheral, once the wires are removed. The display can stay, and does add some value. Little board, low peripheral once removed.

5, leaning low peripheral, not as many ICs as 4. Little board, same as above.
