Curious to know any insight to whether or not if vape pens are worth anything. And if the disposable ones vs. the actual vapes with interchangeable cartridges.

Thanks!

I don't think that there is much value in them.

Here is a topic that has to deal with them.

Let me reiterate here what I said on the linkd thread. I smoke. More than I should.
.
That pure liquidised nicotine will kill you.

Worth money? Not really. I scrap my e-cigs which are the same idea in implementation. having friends who vape (I don’t) and having taken apart two different brand’s products they’re nearly identical inside. There are two low peripheral boards. Tiny boards well shorter than an inch. One controllers the product distribution, the other the power output (and charging on rechargeable) of the LMH battery.

The tubes are aluminium or aluminium coated brass. Al being one of the few metals resistant to nicotine and thus protective of the battery in case of outer leakage.
Inside is a bunch of cotton, 2 or three sets of wire, a glass tank in all in ones, and a battery. Plus all will have a small glass or aluminium plated copper tube from the tank.

The recycling value is under 10č.
However you can sign up at terracycle for a recycling program.

I say again pure nicotine will kill. As in dead, finito, stragum, 6 feet under.
Use extreme care and caution dealing with it!!!!!
Or die. Can’t say I didn’t warn you now.

The discussion was about scrapping… but—

My preference is for refillable, but the two brands and inserts I like are available. I love Ploom but it’s not available in the U.S. at all. The wide range of menthol and mint options are unmatched. And there’s the standard flavours too, like ice, purple, and my personal fav, Mevius Sunny which is lemon and mint.

And there’s Posh. But I can’t get refills in my area. They only sell the disposables.

I've lived long and hard, breathed smoke and blew smoke, swallowed smoke and choked smoke, but I never once saw the Marlboro Man vape

If you're looking for value in vape pens particularly... I believe disposables have small PCB's in them which might constitute a minuscule value, but definitely not worth the trouble...

Personally I would consider any vape pens bio-hazards for the simple fact that nicotine could contaminate the boards. I would steer just as clear from them as anyone needs to steer clear of smoke detector PCB's.

I did take one apart in my what’s inside series, just saying.

Battery (usually lithium, but on occasion it may be nicad or even an alkaline dry Cell)
4-12 short copper wires.
A tiny low grade board.
A tinier high peripheral board
Glass tank with pbi plastic stopper.
HDPE plastic rings.
cPS plastic mouthpiece
pbi or cPS plastic tube
Aluminium tube.
PP base

Some brands will have a small tiny midgrade board with an LED light in the base
I’m doing this from memory
