I looked at seven or eight pallets of antminer L3+ and power supplys today. I had bought two gaylords of non-working units for scrap last year. I am delivering the power supplys whole to Boardsort, as it is too difficult to remove them from the case and the screws in the midgrade board are all covered with a rubbery coating, which has to be dug out to get to the fasteners. While there is a good amount of aluminum and copper components, I don't see any profit in the excessive time to break down and clean each unit. Each plastic produce crate I have packed with power supplys with wire weighs 80 pounds, so scraps for about $36 , approximately $200 which will pay delivery in person expenses. The L3 units have a heavy extruded aluminum shell housing a high peripheral hashboard, or is it two boards. They are easy to disassemble and the bulky aluminum housing is saleable locally at a premium, leaving the boards for delivery to boardsort. The owner has multiple business ventures, and has decided to sell the historical factory building where he is storing these items. His first mention was to scrap the units, but mentioned that some good units are mixed in the pallets, and some untested units...again, a rough estimate is 500 units. I am not an electronic dude with knowledge to test the equipment/units, and abhor the idea of trying to peddle the material online, other than as a single lot. Still dithering over whether to offer shred price for the lot by weight, or a price per pallet, or just pass on the deal.

Reselling those are a nightmare.
They’re made to be tortured!

They contain a ton of copper or aluminium and some fairly high end boards.

My general suggestion is to remove the back fan and slide the boards out of the case and attempt to get some sort of aluminium shred rate for them.
