 Post subject: Yellow IC?

I am new to this type of scrapping. Two questions is three legs on each side considered a IC chip? Plus I have a card with yellow chips

The single inline pin packages (SIP) are not ICs. They are resistors, capacitors, oscillators, etc etc. ICs will always have 5 or more pins in a SIP package.

The yellow dual inline package (DIP). Are also not ICs. In this case you have a Bournemouth resistor package.

Ok I was unsure if 6 pins for a ic meant per side or total. So Boardsort will not buy either item then?

They can be left on boards without issue, but they do not buy for them separately.
