Ok so i know what they are and are out of but when it comes to the scrapping of them i am totally lost. pictured are the processor cards from a slot machines cpu unit. they plug into a motherboard with no socket so its more of a backplane with ram slots, pci slot,cf card slots,etc as well as audio/vga/usb ports, etc. The chips on the board are not socketed and have no pins they look wave solderd to the board. i included pictures of a complete front, complete back and one with the cpu removed. i have about 20 of these things and have no idea what to classify them as once i get them all apart. Also if they should be kept whole or the processors (cpu, gpu, math) removed. New to the scrap scene and have boards that dont match any of the picture guides. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I think that should go as telco, if you had not removed the CPU.

With the cpu it was telco. I believe you’re at peripheral without it.

Ok so telco with the processor intact. that works. i just wasn't sure if it was worth removing the processor since its a green fiber without metal and no pins. I took on a bunch of this stuff and once apart well its a cpu, works like a cpu but doesn't look like a cpu. it doesn't stop there either. ram chips hidden under heat sinks. almost tossed a few.

These are p-ITXc boards. Highly condensed embedded application boards.

These are nicer than most I’ve come across. Being telco class. Generally the I/o controllers are on a card in the back board and the primary board is small socket.

Bringing this thread back to life. So this board is part of a $2,000 *new* $400 used cpu for a Williams slot machine. i said i would deal with the scrap units if i could scrap them and keep the money and save the casino from paying to get rid of them, now i have like a basement full of slot machine scrap sitting here with no idea how it would be classified. some of them are resellable back to the manufacturer but since its a controlled gaming product, there's a lot of where did you get it why do you have it questions i don't feel like answering and or loosing my gaming licence over. these are what controls any modern slot machine in casinos. Yep. Price gets inflated a bit. Same control mechanism, board wise, as is found in many modern pinball machines and video poker etc.
It’s a rather standard VIA-design embedded board. ITX format, or Asus-derived mATX-uATX format. It’s basically a size reduced motherboard.

Unfortunately the laws by state and nationally make it difficult to sell this stuff whole; legally.
Much in the same class as fully automatic weapons it’s totally legal to own such machines in most jurisdictions, but federally (if not locally as well) illegal to sell them. Life bites like that sometime.

Ohkay I was running on memory but looking at the pictures these are definitely the VIA ITXr formfactor. The processor, in this case an intel mobile, is usually a low power processor. I can’t tell from the photo but my guess is a low grade p4 or a celeron. The via twister will offload the 85 and 83 instructions from the cpu and there’s an 87 math chip. These often run Windows CE 3 or DC, or micro Unix 6.
The boards are basically a slightly larger variation of a netbook

exactly williams didnt put much thought into slots so they share alot of pinball parts. you are so right with getting rid of these my only choice is scrapping them and taking them apart is less than fun, even more so after ive been working on them all day. You still think it would be under a telco for sorting? I wanna try and get a box packed and sent out sometime this month. Also if anyone is into slots i get a ton of signage and stuff for the collector, or in my case light hording.

They’re very similar to the pinball boards I’ve sent in and a bit more condensed. With extra flashing for shielding. so I don’t see any problem with telco.
The motherboard itself is probably peripheral but may get small socket if you want to post a picture.
