Nice old tape drive. Compaq is a bit strange with their manufacturing.
The board is probably cd/dvd class. Outer casing is usually a carbon steel or magnesium. Nice valuable copper drive motors. Some aluminium and nickel. Occasionally copper connectors, but usually brass. The cartridge pull, if automated will have a tiny aluminium motor and a pair of small thick brass springs.
Boardsort won’t pay (much) for the whole unit. Pennies.
So remove the logic board for Boardsort.
The rest I’d sell locally. How much further you dissect it is up to you and your local prices.
