I've been told these are valuable by some people and others say they are not. As much as 90 dollars a pound to as little as they are worthless? What say you guys?

Well they’re definitely not $90 a pound.
They’re also not worthless.
I believe boardsort buys these though; so email the photo to Chris and ask.
My generic guess is 50č-$1.50 range.

An electrical scrap buyer I use tends to be in that range.
But I’d be happy to sell them to anyone who thinks they’re $90! ;)*

I also must agree with you that it seems that those guys who know everything about everything as did the guy who insisted these were worth $90 a pound are often the most easily silenced with simple logical retorts. The next time I see him I will tell him that I just don't have the time to sell these precious gems even at $90 a pound but would happily take $45 a pound and let him make a bundle on the deal. Somehow I am certain that rather than jump at the opportunity for quick cash he will begin dissembling and quickly change the subject to some other topic he knows everything there is to know about already. Thanks again though! :D

Moose and Goldman have both covered similar pieces on their video blogs and said in their usual nice manner that it’s definitely for hobby refining. I tried doing an electrical reverse on one from Mains and spent more in electrical cost than I got.
That said like gold cap capacitors and gold base mini microphones from some phones, there’s definitely gold value.
Here the base metal is so heavy... I’d be surprised if it passed a $1 per pound today. Chris was offering close to $1 for those mics and about 75č for the caps so 50č or so is logical here depending on the base metal.
(Unless it’s copper or nickel both metals as a base would move it into the $2-$3 pp range).
