Just wondering what these chips are?
And if they have a category on there own?

Board is broken so I would just remove these

Those are transistors, not ICs. The board is midgrade

Will Boardsort still accept this even though it's only part of a board?

Don't intentionally send in pieces like that all the time but yes there is still some value so it can go.

Transistors typically have a plated copper backing to help dissipate heat (and are often attached to a block of aluminum). Depending on your local yard if you have loose transistors they may take them as copper breakage or copper content.

local yards around here are useless. They buy ewaste in a whole for 10cents a lb.

Peripheals at 3cents a lb.

Now this is Canadian money to, so might as well be Monopoly Money compared to U.S. curency lol.

SO it's pretty much useless as a small operator too make any money :(

I have the same issue in Texas, though it's getting better as more companies realize there's value.

But just the transistor without any board is largely copper, if you can convince a local yard it is what it is then that is just another option if you end up with a large number of loose transistors.

Dug up a couple of Lostinlodos' old posts about these.
Here:
viewtopic.php?f=3&t=21301&p=42165&hilit=Transistor#p42165
And here:
viewtopic.php?f=3&t=1212&p=4078&hilit=Transistor#p4078

Looks like I generally remembered correctly but Lost is far more experienced so if there's any discrepancies I defer to Lost.
