Here's another big set of boards I'd appreciate feedback on. This is a representative sampling of the ~150lb of this stuff we got recently.

There's a big range in how populated each item is, so my big questions are;

- What do you you think a ballpark per-pound price ought to be on the whole load? I'm guessing $4-$7, but there's a lot here I'm not familiar with.

- Some of the backing/printing looks like silver or tin. Can anyone tell me what that is, and does it much affect the value?

- Should I bother removing the IC chips that are socketed, or would that greatly de-value the boards?

And I've already found some 'mercury-wetted-contact' items I'll need to hazmat, but if anyone sees anything else of note/concern, please let me know. Any and all advice is appreciated.

Older boards like you have generally always have better precious metals.
I don't think any forum member could give you a "ball park" figure. That's up to boardsort. And. I bet. Boardsort won't confirm a price till your e-scrap reaches thier business and they can see what you have.

But. I am going to try and evaluate your boards. Along with my opinion on what I would do.
Boards in picture #1. Very good you did front and back.
#1 low grade. If indeed boardsort buys it.
#2 Cut gold fingers off. Remove connector. Trash board.
#3 Remove clips. Submit High Telecom.
#4 U2 thru U10 remove if relays. Submit High Telecom.
#5 Remove gold fingers. Trash board.
#6 Remove gold fingers and connectors. Trash board.
#7 #8 #11 #12 High Telecom.
#9 Remove connector. Submit board low grade.
#10 Low Telecom.
Boards in picture #2
#1 Remove connector and piece of gold. Submit board as low grade.
#2 Low grade. As is.
#3 Low Telecom. As is.
#4 Remove transformer. Submit board as High Peripheral.
#5 Remove glass fuses. Remove heatsink. Submit board as Backplane.
#6 Remove gold pieces. Submit board as Low Grade.
#7 Remove connector. Submit board as Low Grade.
#8 Remove Heatsink. Transformer. Large cap. Submit board Low Telecom.
#9 High Telecom. I see gold pin ICs. Leave them there.
#10 Low Telecom as is.
#11 Remove gold fingers. Trash board.
#12 Remove connector. Submit board as Low Grade.
#13 Remove the key caps. Leave key body. Submit High Peripheral.
#14 Unknown.
Ok. Thats my attempt to grade and remove some components.
So. You have connectors for Connector End category. Also. Those gold pieces can go into Gold Pin category.
That was a long and tedious response for me. But. Other members hopefully will post and add some other advice.
Learning to sort. That increases your payout. Nothing wrong with that.
Here to learn like everybody else.
