These two boards are from a matched set of DVI over Fiber Tx/Rx boxes. I've got a whole stack of them. OSCAR hasn't been decisive, so does anyone have an opinion of whether or not I need to pull the aluminum caps off to ensure the boards can pass as high telcom?

This might (I stress might cause I don't have a good handle on the category) fall under gold edge.

Yeah, I would love a more fleshed out description of what gold edge and high telcom actually need to be that category, rather than the current description videos that just flash a couple examples on the screen. Once stuff looks like it's better than Periferal High Grade I'm generally at a loss for where it goes beyond there...

I am all in for Boardsort expanding the information in thier escrap videos also.
I sent in 3 PCB's that looked similiar to the one you have shown.
Had that gold edge around them. But it was a no go.
Chris explained to me that gold edge is a special type of PCB.
It weighs much more than your regular PCB. I took it that in addition to the gold edge
It has heavy gold traces through out the PCB. As shown in video. Making it heavier than regular PCB. Much heavier.
Obviously. With all the gold it has to have special application in electronics.
You could submit them anyway as gold edge. See what reply you get.
