Hope for the Best? You have already spent time sorting the boards, ie, the name of the company is Boardsort, which means boards that are already grouped and shipped as distinct bundles. That is why they can offer premium prices for individual classes, rather than having to dig thru the soup pot to pick out the meat and veggies. You don't go to the restaurant and say bring me what ever has been thrown in the garbage can.
I have watched the process at the facility in Ohio.
When similar or identical boards are packaged together, the sorter can take a quick look at the bundle, or if slightly different boards of the same class are together, the sorter can make sure no lower class or higher class board has gotten mixed in. So confirming a box of grouped boards takes a few seconds, whereas each board in a mixed box requires extra time.
Go back and reread the How to ship to Boardsort a couple more times, and group and package/tie/ separate with distinct dividers between different classes of boards if packed in a single box. Fill out the form listing what class and weight on the form and include it in each box, making sure your name and contact information is prominently in every box.
Submitting the form online to Boardsort will let you know what you have, the payment you should receive, which can be upgraded some if the graders find a telecom board which got into the Peripheral group. They will be fair in your favor if there are a few misgraded boards in the box, but they don't have time to work 500 piece jigsaw puzzles.
May you have a profitable experience with your recycling efforts.

Also take a look at the quote form, you will be putting in the grades of your material before you send it anyways. If you insist on sending it in mixed then the lowest grade I see is midgrade, which is what you should quote it as. You might get a generous sorter who pulls and weighs the better stuff for a better price but I wouldn't expect it.

Ok.. I can kinda differentiate between value or not.. I absolutely know nothing about computers.. I’ve been getting them and storing for later planned gold recovery with grand kids.. it has become overwhelming.. I have a bunch.. is there anything ( I guess google pics) that I could get to help me identify.? I’m luck to even be messaging on this and as far as anything else … I’m sure it’s just basic to y’all.. but I’m lost.. literaly.. I see names of different things but I have no idea what that particular thing is or looks like.. is there an IDENTIFICATION OF BOARDS AND SUCH FOR DUMMIES.? I apologize for my ignorance with this… I’m willing to learn.. but I need something basic to get me started .. like pictures and value.. or what not to send.. ok.. I’m feeling kinda ridiculous.. but HELP?

You've got a bunch of boards that are the same, let's start by taking a good full frame picture of one or two boards; if you have two of the same flip one over to give a front and back view in one picture. This way we can see the board better and it's easier to say which boards we're referring to.

There's definitely lots to know but you don't necessarily have to learn exactly what every board does or what it comes from. I like to know more cause I find it interesting so sometimes I offer more info than is needed or ask questions for curiosity rather than scrapping.

Get one of the grandkids to find the Shark Scrapper videos listed at the top of this site. Watch the videos several times. I still go back and rewatch them when I have a question of encounter a different board.

Knowing the 5 W's and an H about a particular PCB or component. Helps. But doesn't place it without question in a particular category. Like Marked141 pointed out. There's definitely lots to know but you don't necessarily have to learn exactly what every board does or what it comes from. In addition. Meowpher the 10th showed you. You already sorted. The next step. Put it in a category. This is how I keep it simple. I go for the obvious. What is that? Chip density on the board. Also. How much junk? Those 2 simple criteria gives me direction. Without a doubt. The PCB's you have pictured. Some are easily. Recognized. One being the Metal Socket Motherboard. Also. Many of those boards are easily recognized as High Peripheral. Low Peripheral. Also. Low/Mid Grade are there. What's my point? It's right there in front of you. This is my technique to alleviate the confusion. To get the process started. I have cardboards boxes. Labled. High Peripheral. Low Peripheral. Telecom. Motherboards. Mid/low Grade. Then Mystery box. I keep it simple. After I do a basic sort. Then. I looked it over. Question? Do I have enough to mail in to Boardsort.com. If I do. I mail it. That keeps my workplace clean and ready for more. My mystery PCBs. Are for my learning. In your first post. You mentioned you refine for precious metals. That's a knuckle ball I can't address. Considering. Your refining. And you want to sell. Yes. Take the cream. Milk those cows. Sell the rest to Boardsort. Again as I pointed out in your first post. Study the escrap videos. Etc. Etc. Etc. Stop being spoon fed like a child in a high chair. There are many forum members to take your hand and show you how to walk into categories. Mailing. Etc. Ok. Enough of that.
HERE TO LEARN LIKE EVERYBODY ELSE.

Dear 2good2toss,

I am a newbie to all this also. I haven’t even sent my first box to boardsort
yet. I began dumpster diving/scrapyarding last spring. I came across a bin filled with old elevator boards. I scooped em up and began my utube education.
What the different components are, color of the board, I watched each id video, carefully looked at the picture that pops up when I select a category.
To me, the process seems very similar to the scrapyard: to get the best price carefully sort your materials. If you are willing to follow your buyer ‘s guidelines help will be on the way!
This granny never imagined I’d be learning so much at this point in my path.
Have FUN! LindyLou
