Hi everyone,

I recently mailed Boardsort a package back in February. I was extremely nervous and worried I sorted incorrectly. I paniced thinking I fowled up somehow. I wanted to atleast give my feedback here of how the process went. I am going to overshare in hopes it helps future people.

I felt like I was overthinking the process and watched many videos of how to grade and sort. I even posted (and will again shortly) asking for help from the wonderful board members. However, my lack of confidence aside I pushed through and tried my best to categorize everything.

Once categorized, to my best ability, I began to box up my material. I am a very small time hobby recycler (with hopes to get bigger) so I don't acquire many boards. I wanted to send a test run with Chris and see how the experience went.

Here is where I overthought. I wrapped everything up in bubble wrap. I mean every single board. I was afraid of damaging or e-souping Chris's team. Chris reached out after the package arrived and he was extremely nice. Chris said DO NOT wrap every single board in bubble wrap. Chris said to wrap the ENTIRE bundle/category in bubble wrap. Now I know each CATEGORY should be bubble wrapped together instead of each board in that caregory.

Other than my little packaging blunder I was very happy with Chris and his team. Everything went smoothly. I elected to go old school and receive a check just to see how long it would take to get from OH to NJ. I got my check in approximately a week. Amount matched my invoice.

Thank you again for making this experience a walk in the park and I hope to do more business with you and your company in the future.

Sincerely,
Dhill

Always know you can ask questions if you're unsure about anything.

Boardsort and long time members have emphasized proper packaging from the standpoint of making sure your material arrives intact and sorted with the general idea that you can't really overdo it when protecting your shipment. I have certainly been a victim of not doing enough before and nearly lost material in transit. While it's good to know people take secure packaging to heart, this is a good reminder it can actually be overdone. (Long winded way of saying "thanks for sharing")

If you ever get a chance to send in CPUs for test and buy, do lean into that packaging method though. The difference there being, test and buy CPUs are intended to be working where e-scrap isn't.
