I was referring to the age of the material. From the depression to the end of the war.

On decorative silver-plate, it can be plated on any metal... if it's non-magnetic, it's on copper, brass, or a cupronickel that can have varying balance of brass and bickel.. the whiter the underlying metal, the more nickel it has. Lots of older silver-plated decorative items are also plated on white-metal or pot metal as we used to call it. These are the items that are easy to dent/bend with just your hands... I believe this is what boardsort is meaning by their pewter category. They are often marked quadruple plate, etc. But are heavier than than copper/brass plated items. Old pewter is lead-based so heavy and plyable but can be silver-plated or not. Hopefully I haven't left anything important out....lol.

To be pewter it has to have tin. Period.
The what-else isn’t really important, be it lead, or copper, etc.

And the price is in that tin.
