Got a really old Toshiba copier control panel board in that had a large steel plate over the buttons and when I ripped that plate off the buttons broke apart with these ball bearings falling out. I placed them back on the board for the photos and wondering if these are gold plated or just brass, seems shiner than brass and non magnetic.

I can try to get closer photos separate from the board if needed, if gold plated would they go in gold pins?

Gold bearing bearings (couldn't resist) are a thing. Lostinlodos would have a better handle on this than me. But it may come down to having to test it.

I found some small gold balls in a red rectangle with a row of switches on one of the boards I have.

That is the type of switch you should check for gold bearings, they've been pointed out before by others.

Yes, those are gold bearing. I would assume very similar to the switches mentioned.

Red, Blue, Yellow, and White are the common colors with those little rectangle switches that contain the gold bearing balls.

I aim for the Red n Blues or sometimes steel wrapped in old stuff.
