if it was pulled off a AGP/PCI finger card yes its worth more, you can remove a onboard GPU chip form a motherboard most of the time its worth more to do that. So long as removing it does not downgrade the motherboard, if the board still has a northbridge/southbridge/chipset you are good to remove onboard Raid/GPU chips. The thing to note here is what do most motherboards have, most motherboards do not have a 3rd gold tab IC on them.
