I have finally started preparing my boxes for my first trip to Alliance. I am not making a special trip just to swing by Boardsort but I can make it a pit stop on the way to visit the in-laws.

With that, I have a very basic question. This here is the start of one of my low grade board boxes. I have always wondered how they process this when a customer comes in. What I have found in the process of depopulating, a lot of other things get broken and fall off or the board just gets trashed into several pieces. Does Boardsort simply look in the box and say "Yep, that's low grade" and weigh the box and just dump it? Or will the small pieces that tend to fall of the boards get tossed and not count towards weight?

I am excited for the opportunity for them to provide me feedback and even educate me for better results. Last thing I want to do is show up and be the guy that makes things difficult for their employees.

I know there's no price difference but you have some board that should be at least midgrade in there. You might separate that into brown and green just to see if they'll give you a better rate on the green boards ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

As far as bits and pieces, in this industry there will be things that break off just in handling the boards so there shouldn't be a problem with a few pieces ending up in your material. If you can sort them out try to do that.

Even though the price is the same, low and mid grade are different board compositions, and should not be mixed as that requires the employees to sort them out

I can't guarantee all the green boards I see would make midgrade. I figure take that initial step at least so when you get to Boardsort all the green are already not mixed in and they can either help sort it or give it a better payout.
