The cat got ole Meowpher's tongue, and he's sitting here wanting to say something, but has nothing to say.
Wait, I just thought of something. I have an older Inspiron laptop, the heavy kind, that is almost two inches thick and weighs about ten pounds.
A local auction online had a bunch of Toughbook laptops built heavy and bulky, for use on outdoor construction projects a few Covids ago, but those went too high priced for me , and definitely out of the scrap category.
My question is, do these laptops which are in such a heavy case that they can withstand a hundred foot drop and being runover by a bulldozer still fit the "complete laptop" class?
I have no intention of scrapping my Inspiron, but might use it to replace the bumper on my pickup truck

I would think so as long as it has all its bits and pieces

Toughbooks and other rugged laptops tend to have heavy aluminium and zinc in them.
If you can get them under $10 you can recover the cost in scrap.
But you can resell them easily if you are patient.
If the components work all you need is an OS (re)install and flip for $50+

I sold a rugged 486 DX2 with 3.11 installed for $100 (actually $86.~~) best offer end of last year.
I regularly sell them for over $50 and often over 100.

And if you can’t get windows running you can always use BSD and LibDK to get anything older than 2010 running.
