I have not yet said anything directly to you, Austin, regarding the hard facts of your case. I simply don’t know enough from you or from boardsort to say anything on it.
A basic update here is I still haven’t heard back from boardsort. Apparently nobody has by phone or email. Something happened to Chris. The lack of information from a company that has previously been more than willing to dump inside info tells me that this is either very personal, or, I hope not, very concerning. Shipping is an issue even the best and most experienced fail at sometimes. I’ve had tables arrive with broken or missing legs. TVs and monitors with broken screens. Direct from manufacturer on pallets
Tested chip sales have always been slow. A quick scan of the posts here shows they are regularly behind schedule. I’m not sure what their exact process is but I assume they do something similar to what I do. A full modern cpu test takes many hours per processor. The more cores and cache the chip has the longer a test takes. And many modern CPUs can take 10-12 hours to test per. (For comparison a proper test of a 1Gb ram stick takes about 2 hours.) if you send a pile of CPUs on the same socket platform, there’s going to be a delay. It’s just the fact of how computers work.
I came to boardsort as a customer in 2014 (I believe) after legitimately being screwed over a gold ingot that I hand refined. That I paid to have appraised and assayed. That i shipped to the company I was using with **THREE** notarised guarantees. A bar that was damn close to pure. And went “missing” until my lawyers got involved.
So I’m the last person to say anything about being screwed until I have all the facts.
What I can and will say: Austin is an outlier here. Everyone else is getting paid on scrap on schedule. Lack of communication is problematic overall, but most issues are still able to be taken care of here on the site.
Tested chip sales can take up to a month even though they generally are on schedule per the sales page turnaround.
I’m truly sorry you are having this issue Austin. More so that I can’t help—I’m usually able to cut through the fog and get an answer. I’m unable to do that at the moment.
My schedule is quite busy at the moment but the first chance I get I’ll take the drive out to boardsort and try to get some answers in person. Unfortunately it’s about an 8 hour drive for me. And I don’t have much in the way to bring in anyway. Would be the first time I go in person. Feel bad showing up empty handed.
