 Post subject: Heat shielded RAM

I’ve got about 25lbs of RAM with heat shields. Two questions:

1. Is apply some amount of heat the best way to remove them as to not damage the chips? At this scale I’m not sure how practical that might be.

2. Is it ALWAYS best to remove all shields or in the case of particular large/heavy/bulky shields does the math typically work out better to keep it on?
