Clean plug pins from plug ends, that are brass; be tin or nickel plated, go clean brass.

No steel, aluminum, plastic inserts or layered, zinc nuts, lead, paint, grease/heavy oils. Like Lost' said, a little Cu no one will complain, same as if you had solder for what would pass as #2 Cu.

We need to go back to the person who claimed they had info from boardsort who was known for some wild issues and accusations. That caused this whole thing in the first place.

Look, a bit of wall paint on a brass pipe is not going to be an issue.

Plated connectors are fine, be they tin, nickel, or silver. Tin and nickel are both worth more than brass or raw copper. Tin and nickel are standard components in brass. if your “brass” connectors are completely silver or grey colour inside and out, contact Chris if you don’t mind the delay, or sell it locally.

Let’s be more realistic. And this goes for pewter as well. They want generally clean metals. They don’t want oils, liquid or dry. Or tar (no roofing flashing). Or grease, wet or dry.

They don’t want lead. Easy test for solder, put on a plastic glove and rub it hard. Lead soldier will ALWAYS create a rubbing, a powder or colour transfer. I use scrap pieces of white paper to test myself, like junk mail envelopes.
If it’s before the early 70s, and covered in paint, this is the wrong place to sell it.

They don’t want poo. So take the clogged drain cutout to a local yard, most will deal with it (for a deduction weight wise).

They don’t want hydraulics. No, boardsort is not the go to for the punctured canisters from your neighbour’s brother’s second cousin’s lowrider. Or that fancy catapult from the back yard that sent the neighbour’s cat through the window 3 blocks away.

They don’t want your glass bottom beer stein. A, there’s ebay for that. A 1lb beer stein scratched, dented, and damaged, will sell for $20 plus shipping. And b? I get it, some people hate ebay. So put it on a desk, table floor, grab a vacuum and a thick screwdriver or small hammer, and bash the glass out.

One thing I point out all too often, don’t over think it on something as easy as metals or marked plastics, or glass.
And generally, you can ignore the ONE person on a site that EVERY member, old and new, is calling out for their posts.

This reminds me, people like to spit in water fountain drains and don't realize they're just clogging up the pipes with the crud from their sinuses and lungs. Absolutely gross realization taking one of those apart.

But anywho, brass is a pretty forgiving category like I said in post 2 that now looks like post 1
:eyeroll: ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Just be consistent in how you handle and sort it so whoever you sell to can see what's there and if you use them again (and again) they'll know what to expect from you.
