So I don't have a lot by any means at all, but i got a small stack that i can carry (maybe 10). I don't want to pay the postage to mail them in to Boardsort @ $0.50/pound because it's like 10 pounds... Anyone know of another type of resource that I could sell tablets at?
I've checked my scrap yard...
I've looked into the Amazon program for trading in devices & these don't qualify...
I've been to the EcoATM, if your familiar with that, and it'll give me $1 per tablet because of their age, condition, & being locked (apple).
I know they have a board inside of them, so if I were to crack them open., those boards would likely be High Peripheral maybe???
So, I'm trying to see what other options might be out there for Tablets..

If they are all iPads and all locked, you’re probably out of luck most places.
That EcoATM would accept them is a good sign though. That’s a good test for EVERYONE to find out the kind of lock the item has if you don’t understand the differences.

In your case it’s almost guaranteed it’s not an Activation lock. EcoATM doesn’t accept those.

Ebay will work. But you have to know the exact lockout. The actual value is based on that as much as the model and condition.

Oh, and iPad boards go as high peripheral. If it has a separate card (older tablets) for communication, it’s a wifi card.

But you’re stuck with a lot of ewaste to deal with. You can’t legally toss it in the trash. Some home depot, Lowe’s, ace etc will take a raw pouch battery. Some won’t. Don’t toss it, they WiLL burst and cause a fire in a garbage truck. And if they catch you doing so, it’s 10s of thousands in fines and possibly jail for tossing out a battery.

I've came across the "itsworthmore" site before but don't remember what it was that kept me from getting further into it... I suppose I should give it another look, as well as the others you mentioned too.
I just have 3 iPads; an iPad Mini (1st Gen) A1490, iPad (3rd Gen) A1416, & iPad (1st Gen) A1219. Then 2 Samsung's, and half a dozen lower brand/models like Onn and Alcatel.

Guess I got some research to do!! May even just list them on eBay all as one lot for e-waste/gold recovery!!

Aren’t exactly junk brands, just depends on what you have.
Onn is know for their hardened kids tablets. They also make some very high end stuff that some militaries, construction, etc use. They can be as low as $25 new but range into the low thousands. They are also extremely popular in the Pacific, the Atlantic islands, and the tropics in general as not being as problematic in high heat and high humidity. Even the lowest end products are surprisingly resilient.


I believe Alcatel Mobile dates to the early 1990s. They are passed by here, but they are extremely popular in Central and Eastern Europe and Western Asia. They are part of Nokia

Quick cash an online buying company will likely look at the iPads and Samsung tablets. You’ll get more on ebay though.
The others ebay is your best bet if you use eBay’s international shipping option. The ones that sell usually do so to middle of nowhere world wide.
The up side is ebay does all then international paperwork for you. So be very clear multiple times in multiple places they are dead, and the buyer won’t have to pay any tech duty at all.

Oh, and we have a couple of $50-$100 Onn products in Asia. I gasped when a tablet was dropped down two flights of concrete stairs at our place. The screen had a single hairline crack. So I'm a bit of a fan.
