Gold ones exist. I’ve come across them myself. Boardsort buys them, I’ve sent them in myself. They are rare, but out there.

I'll keep an eye out but given the stuff I tend to dig through I'm not likely to see them. Who knows, though!

I'm thinking gold pins. That picture is under natural light. It is not a Mosfet device. It is an obsolete 15 volt linear voltage regulator.
Here to learn like everybody else.

To put this to bed, sts, anything pin hole legs has had a gold leg variant.

Yall old skool members users here.c know about my database. (Quick update, the fire torched the most recent version but we got 97% ish recovery.
Name a component (with legs) I’ll find it with gold.

LostCajun: it’s not just cost. Don’t forget it wasn’t that long ago gold cost very little and offered far better returns. Age is your score with gold. Anything older than the mid- 90s is more likely to have gold everywhere.

Age, that said, please don’t go pillage all the old tech you can find for gold. Resale is still the most profitable avenue and it’s getting very very very hard to find parts for my old computers and audio equipment. Just because the 100 year old couple gave it to you for $5 at a garage sale doesn’t mean it’s not worth a few hundred online to those of us who need it.

Those are the sort of parts that look promising until the cutters come out, then it's mostly base metal.
