Hello all,

I have been pulling all ribbon cables. In the picture attached, they all have silver
pins except for the IDE cable ends. Even the white cables with the blue connectors.
The shiny silver enclosed cable looks golden in the picture, but is silver in color. BTW, all of the wires are aluminum cable I do believe, but not sure exactly.

My questions are: which of these will Boardsort process as a whole and are they worth saving to send in?

Thanks for any responses!

It's more complicated than just pulling any ribbon cable.
There are some specifics. On the cable pulled.
Here to learn like everybody else.

Yes. Well I understand the cables that have gold fingers and gold in their connector pins.
These I clip off and save, though it still leaves me with a cable. I know the ribbon cable category shows pictures of the three cables on the right side of my picture.

The other cables generally come from older and newer flat screen tube lights and LEDs in LCD TVs and power boards.

I am fast getting to the point where I do not want to waste time and space on anything that does not make sense.

I tapped ribbon cable on the main page and all I get is a ? Box. No photo.
Ribbon cable in general tech parlance is IDE/ATA or SCSI style cables.
Your comment about the price page photo I can’t see has me wondering if they are referring to ribbon cables or ribbon wire. (Eg disc drive or monitor style cables, flat wire).

There may be a terminology disconnect here.

Sorry the photo on the other Paige isn’t coming up for me. If you can post BoardSort’s sample photo here for me I can try to figure out what they are referring to.

Btw one thing I can say for sure is if you cut the ends off it’s going to be mixed wire.
