I think with us being so far from board sort, that's our only reasonable option with low and midgrade boards. My best guess is I will have to have minimum of about 500lbs of peripheral to make it profitable. I'm not sure how you intend to ship but you might look at www.uship.com. I can ship 500lbs for $140 to $180 2 to 3 day deilivery.

Last one is peripheral

If you're talking 500lbs in gaylords shipping becomes commercial.
I've mentioned uship before. I do smaller local hauls myself off their site.

However again there's also FedEx. Unlike the postal service and ups fedex charges by order not by box. And orders are based on girth, not size or weight (each box's label will be charged a rate but that rate is different if you have 4 boxes, or a bit lower for 6 or 7).

I regularly ship orders around 100-200 lbs for under $40-$50. As long as you use Industry standard box sizes. I find Amazon boxes to be perfect and for whatever reason using solely Amazon boxes of mixed sizes makes my shipments the lowest cost.
Example I can ship 1000 beanie babys in 1000 beanybaby boxes for $1500 or 1000 beanie babys in 20 prime 28x26x6 boxes for $50
Since weight is of minimal affect on price I use lower value stuff as packing and filler such as bags of mixed wire. I line box edges with smooth sides mid grade boards to maintain box structure and put another box of peripheral or telco inside it. Keeping things sorted.
