The boards are low grade so if that's what you're selling at I'd leave them be. No sense in lowering weight.

Honestly if you're yard is paying for the copper transformer but not the aluminium heatsinks or aluminium canister capacitors you really need a better yard. Both are worth more than the transformers.

Yeah, local yards are wierd about what they take sometimes. I just found one that wil take thes boards whole. They have 2 board classes low and high. High is motherboards only 2.50-3.00#, and everything else they class as low at. 25-.30. So thats at least somwhere to take my lows and mids.

Last time I took my canisters in (last week of Oct) I got 64c and open transformers like these got 38 cents.
Local yards a a funny breed.

National chain companies (eg CoB, Allied) pay the home price which is New York, Huston, Chicago, or San Francisco.

Btw I believe that was a spike price on canister caps, Al is averaging 55-60 on pure clean so caps are closer to the 35-40c range.

Only have local yards here, no national chains. Central US rural america . 2+ hours to the nearest city with over 100k population.

I feel your pain.
When I lived in Missouri, cape across from semo, we had one yard and they paid what they want when the want and not a penny more.
Closest large yard was 30 miles south or 20 miles north east in Illinois!

Benefits of bufu is the cost of living was lower. I'd scan through the collage town sharing route with less than 10 others picking up scrap from a 75% seasonal collage town and the wonderful "junk" rich parents poor student collage kids tossed out.
Wish boardsort was around back then I'd 'of made a fortune twice a year on the volume of pentium pro, pentium II/III and Mac computers left behind on the side of the road.

Side note if you're within 50 miles of a MAJOR college/university town make your 5 times a year trek to the immediate area; especially sorority and fraternity row.
1 week Before season start. August
Daddy bought me a piece of crap
1 week after season start
Daddy's crap doesn't work
One week before last day
Not bringing this shite home
One week after end of year
Janitors/volunteers: such a mess. Everything must go

And finally the first week of classes after Christmas.
Daddy bought me new stuff!
