Would the connector test plugs be gold plated

That's going to go as automotive board without box. There's a heavy epoxy on it.

Gold would be my first guess. Followed closely by a high nickel brass.

The jewelry store said they are gold plated does boardsort buy them

Yes as is like that they're gold connectors.

If you cut them totally free of wire and epoxy including inside the tube you can send them in for a review and quote for gold pin rate, nuts too.
They will usually be somewhere between 70c and 90c per lb
